UN Human Rights Office Raises Alarm Over Forced Displacement of Palestinians in the West Bank

The United Nations Human Rights Office has warned of an alarming rise in forced displacement and land confiscation targeting Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
According to the UN’s official website, the Israeli occupation authorities have intensified efforts to relocate large populations from long-established Palestinian communities. The UN Human Rights Office in the occupied Palestinian territory reported a significant escalation in such measures.
On June 18, the Higher Planning Council of the zionist Civil Administration issued a directive rejecting all planning and construction permits submitted by Palestinians in the Masafer Yatta area of southern Hebron Hills, referred to by zionist authorities as “Firing Zone 918.”
In recent months, the occupying power has significantly increased home demolitions, arbitrary arrests, and mistreatment of Palestinians and human rights defenders. These actions have coincided with heightened restrictions on movement within and around Masafer Yatta, effectively pressuring residents to leave.
Between October 7, 2023, and May 31, 2025, approximately 6,463 Palestinians were forcibly displaced due to home demolitions carried out by zionist forces, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
