President Pezeshkian Calls for National Unity to Counter Western Pressure

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian renewed his call for national unity on Wednesday, emphasizing its role in accelerating Iran’s progress and resisting external threats from the United States and Europe. Speaking at a ceremony in Tehran to mark “National Martyr Day,” Pezeshkian stressed that internal cohesion is essential to achieving the goals set by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, particularly Iran’s ambition to become a regional leader in culture, economy, and other key sectors.
Addressing the audience, Pezeshkian pointed to Western sanctions and threats as challenges that Iran can overcome only if its people stand together. “The U.S. imposes sanctions, Europe makes threats…but none of them can stop us unless we have quarrels,” he said, urging different Iranian factions to set aside their differences. He further stated that unity would help eradicate poverty and economic hardships, ensuring a better future for all Iranians.
Pezeshkian, who won last summer’s presidential election on a platform of national consensus, has consistently advocated for internal solidarity as a means to counter foreign pressures. He maintains that a unified and determined nation can effectively address Iran’s challenges, particularly those imposed by external powers.
