Minister Attaf holds talks with Chairperson of the African Union Commission

ADDIS ABABA – Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral talks on Monday with the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, on the eve of his participation in the 24th Extraordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council, according to a statement by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On this occasion, Minister Ahmed Attaf reiterated his congratulations to Mahmoud Ali Youssouf on assuming the Chairmanship of the African Union Commission, emphasising Algeria’s full readiness to provide all forms of support “as he carries out his noble tasks in serving the causes of peace, development, and integration in Africa,” the source said.

According to the statement, the meeting also offered an opportunity to exchange perspectives and analyses on the key issues and current challenges facing the continent. Additionally, it explored avenues to enhance cooperation and coordination between Algeria and the African Union Commission to ensure joint efforts in addressing the various challenges confronting Africa.
