Italy Adds Enrico Mattei Museum to Its National Heritage

The Italian Ministry of Culture has officially designated the Museum of Enrico Mattei, a friend of the Algerian Revolution, as a national museum and included it in Italy’s cultural heritage.
The museum’s official recognition ceremony was attended by the Algerian Ambassador to Italy, local elected officials, the family of Enrico Mattei, and a number of citizens in Matelica, Italy.
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune honored Enrico Mattei as a loyal friend of the Algerian Revolution and posthumously awarded him the Medal of Friends of the Algerian Revolution. In recognition of his remarkable contributions to the revolution, the gas pipeline connecting Algeria and Italy was named after him.
Since its inauguration in 2018, the museum has become a historical and tourist destination for visitors from Italy, Europe, and around the world, honoring the memory of Enrico Mattei.
