Iran Says It Has Full Control of Strait of Hormuz, Ready for Any Confrontation With the US

Iran has asserted “complete control” over the land, air, and underwater areas of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, sending a clear signal amid fears of a possible US military strike on Tehran.
In comments carried by the Fars News Agency, an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander said Iran does not seek war but is fully prepared. He emphasized that if conflict breaks out, there will be no retreat, even by a millimeter, and Iranian forces will continue to advance. The commander added that the management of the strait has become fully intelligent, allowing Iran to monitor all maritime, surface, and underwater movements, and to control whether vessels flying different flags are allowed to pass.
The Iranian official warned that any use of neighboring countries’ territory, waters, or airspace against Iran will be treated as hostile, noting that the message has already been conveyed to regional parties. He also stated that Tehran possesses additional capabilities that will be revealed at the appropriate time, as tensions rise in the region following US warnings of military options in response to recent protests in Iran.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical global shipping route, carrying large volumes of oil and liquefied natural gas. It accounts for roughly one-third of the world’s seaborne crude oil shipments, including a significant portion of Iranian oil exports to China, as well as a sizable share of oil from Saudi Arabia, and Iraq. About 20% of the world’s liquefied natural gas trade also passes through the strait.
Iranian officials have repeatedly warned that any US strike would trigger a swift and comprehensive response, highlighting the strategic and economic importance of the waterway.
