Iran and the E3 group—France, Germany, and the UK—will meet on January 13 in Geneva to address ongoing disputes over Tehran’s nuclear program, Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi announced.
This round of discussions follows a November meeting where both sides committed to future negotiations to resolve the impasse. The talks are seen as a critical opportunity ahead of Donald Trump’s return to the US presidency on January 20, given his previous “maximum pressure” policy against Iran.
Amid these developments, Tehran has agreed to enhanced monitoring of its Fordow nuclear site by the UN nuclear agency, after advancing uranium enrichment to near weapons-grade levels. However, efforts to revive the 2015 nuclear agreement, abandoned by Trump in 2018, remain stalled despite prior indirect negotiations under President Joe Biden.
