Instead, the statement noted that Merz will hold talks with Zionist officials, focusing on the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
Reaffirming its commitment to international law, the German government warned that any forced displacement of civilians from the Gaza Strip would represent a violation of international legal norms.
