Germany Voices Concern Over Gaza, Denies Inviting Netanyahu for Visit

The German government on Monday expressed serious concern over the worsening situation in the Gaza Strip and called for an immediate ceasefire to end the ongoing violence and humanitarian crisis.
In an official statement, Berlin clarified that Chancellor Friedrich Merz has not extended an invitation to zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit Germany, contrary to some media reports. Instead, the statement noted that Merz will hold talks with Zionist officials, focusing on the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
Reaffirming its commitment to international law, the German government warned that any forced displacement of civilians from the Gaza Strip would represent a violation of international legal norms.
