China’s ANTON Group Interested in Long-Term Partnerships in Algeria’s Hydrocarbons Sector

Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines Mohamed Arkab received on Monday, at the ministry’s headquarters, the Chief Executive Officer of China’s ANTON Group, Peter Pi, accompanied by a delegation. The meeting was attended by Sonatrach CEO Noureddine Daoudi, the head of the National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT) Samir Bekhti, as well as senior officials from the ministry.

Discussions focused on prospects for investment, cooperation, and partnership in the hydrocarbons sector, particularly in exploration and production activities, hydrocarbon transportation, and the development of oil and gas fields using modern technologies. Talks also covered energy infrastructure projects and maintenance, with the aim of improving performance and enhancing technical and economic efficiency.

After hearing a detailed presentation by ANTON Group officials on the company’s activities and international experience in the oil and gas industry, Arkab outlined the main pillars of Algeria’s hydrocarbons development program. He highlighted available investment opportunities and the advantages and incentives offered by the legal framework governing hydrocarbons activities, especially those related to investment attractiveness and partnerships based on technology transfer and value creation.

In this context, the minister welcomed the deepening of technical and institutional consultations between Sonatrach and ALNAFT on one side and ANTON Group on the other, to identify potential areas of cooperation and examine concrete investment opportunities of mutual benefit.

For his part, Peter Pi expressed ANTON Group’s interest in strengthening its presence in Algeria through practical and sustainable projects that rely on the latest globally adopted technologies, and in contributing to the development of the national hydrocarbons sector through long-term partnerships based on expertise sharing and mutual benefit.
