Chad: Formation of New Government

N’DJAMENA, February 7, 2025 – During a televised address on Thursday, Mahamat-Ahmad Alhabo, the Secretary-General of the Chadian Presidency, announced the composition of the new government led by Prime Minister Allamaye Halina, who was reappointed just two days prior.
The new government comprises 37 members, including five state ministers, three delegated ministers, and eight secretaries of state. These appointments were made following consultations with the newly reappointed Prime Minister, as stated by the presidency.
A key appointment is that of Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul, who has been designated as State Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, Chadians Abroad, and International Cooperation.
Local media reports indicate that the cabinet also includes women and young individuals who are serving in government for the first time.
