AU’s Haddadi Reaffirms Commitment to Revitalizing Multilateralism and Africa’s Global Role

The Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Selma Malika Haddadi, reaffirmed the African Union’s commitment to revitalizing multilateralism and advancing the continent’s strategic priorities on the global stage.
In a speech delivered on behalf of AU Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf during the fifth session of the Aswan Forum for Peace and Sustainable Development in Egypt, Haddadi reiterated Africa’s call for a “just, equitable, and impartial” world order based on respect for international law, universal human rights, and international humanitarian law.
In this regard, she emphasized that “international peace and security are interconnected and inseparable.” “Africa is ready to engage constructively with all partners to promote peace, security, and prosperity on the continent,” she stated.
“Achieving sustainable development requires inclusive and participatory partnerships,” she added, noting that the AU is committed to “revitalizing multilateralism and advancing Africa’s strategic priorities in the international arena.”
