Arab Parliament Condemns Zionist Occupation’s Decision to Annex West Bank Lands

The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohamed Al Yamahi, condemned the Zionist occupation’s decision to confiscate and annex territories in the occupied West Bank, in blatant violation of the international law, describing the move as a clear declaration of the start of implementing the annexation plan for Palestinian lands and a reinforcement of colonial settlement policies, in flagrant defiance of international law and the will of the international community.
Al Yamahi stressed Sunday in a statement that this aggressive measure is “a grave escalation that threatens regional peace and stability and undermines any prospects for achieving a just and comprehensive peace, and represents a flagrant violation of international legitimacy resolutions, foremost among them the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, which reaffirmed the illegality of colonial settlement in all Palestinian territories, occupied since 1967.” He emphasized that “annexing territories under the authority of the occupation is an invalid legal cover for the plundering of the Palestinian land, contradicting international law principles and the United Nations Charter, as well as the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice regarding the unlawful occupation and the related unilateral measures.”
The President of the Arab Parliament called on the international community, the United Nations, and the Security Council to assume their legal and ethical responsibility and take immediate action to halt these measures and impose real accountability on the occupation authorities, highlighting that continued impunity encourages further escalation and violations.
He concluded by affirming that the Palestinian people will remain the legitimate owners of the land and that any attempt to impose “Zionist sovereignty” over any part of the occupied Palestinian land is “invalid and unlawful.”
