Algerian President receives the Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque

ALGEIRS – Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received on Monday Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, the Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Algerian Presidency said in a statement.

The Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque presented a symbolic gift to the President—a piece of stone from the “Dome of the Rock”—as a gesture of gratitude and recognition for his unwavering support of the Palestinian cause, the statement added.

In this regard, Sheikh Sabri said, “Algeria’s position has remained steadfast since 1948, unwavering and driven by genuine faith, unaffected by any external factors.” He also expressed gratitude for Algeria’s support in the UN Security Council, where, as a member of this global platform, “it has ensured that Palestine’s voice is heard worldwide.”
