Algerian President Reaffirms Unwavering Support for Palestinian Struggle for Independence

Algiers – Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has reaffirmed the country’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people’s legitimate struggle to establish an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital. He also called for holding the occupiers accountable for genocide and crimes against humanity committed against the Palestinian people.
This statement was made in a message on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, read on his behalf by the Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, Laïd Rebigua, during an event organized by the Palestinian Embassy in Algiers in cooperation with the United Nations Representation in Algeria.
The President emphasized Algeria’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and statehood, in line with international legitimacy. He also condemned the Zionist occupation’s ongoing crimes and firmly rejected any attempts to erase the Palestinian cause, including forced displacement and altering the historical and legal status of Jerusalem.
President Tebboune highlighted the urgent need for international action to end Zionist violent aggression against the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza. He warned that the silence and inaction of the international community in the face of zionist violations would have dire consequences, threatening the very foundations of international law and justice.
The President also urged advocates for a just peace to unite efforts in supporting the Palestinians, emphasizing the importance of securing full UN membership for Palestine and rejecting any denial of Palestinian rights.
