Algerian Mohamed-Ali Gouaned Advances to Semi-Finals (800m)

Algerian middle-distance runner Mohamed-Ali Gouaned has successfully qualified for the semi-finals of the 800m event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Competing in the repechage round on Thursday at the Stade de France athletics track, Gouaned secured his spot with an impressive performance.
The 22-year-old athlete finished second in the fourth heat of the repechage, posting a time of 1:44.37—the fastest across all heats—thereby earning his place in the semi-finals. He will be joined by his compatriot Djamel Sedjati, who comfortably won first place in the same heat on Wednesday with a time of 1:45.84.
In this repechage round, the top athlete from each of the four heats, along with the two fastest overall times, qualify for the semi-finals scheduled for Friday at 10:30 AM (Algerian time).
On a different note, Slimane Moula did not make it to the semi-finals despite finishing second in the second heat of the repechage with a time of 1:45.67.
