ALGIERS – The membership of the Algerian People’s National Assembly (Parliament’s lower house) as an observer member at the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (PARLATINO) was unanimously adopted last September, the lower house said in a statement.
“This decision was reached after deliberations by the 23 members of the governing board of this body,” the statement said.
The same source added that this membership represents “a historic step by Algeria to expand its parliamentary cooperation to the Latin American and Caribbean region, especially since PARLATINO comprises 23 parliaments composed of 4,500 parliamentarians representing 369 political parties from countries in the region.
