Ahmed Attaf, Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, attended a coordination meeting in Johannesburg on Wednesday, which convened African nations invited to participate in the G20 discussions ahead of the upcoming G20 ministerial meeting, as stated by the ministry.

Initiated by South Africa, the meeting included representatives from Algeria, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egypt, and Angola, which currently holds the presidency of the African Union (AU), the statement noted.

During the discussions, participants concentrated on strategies and opportunities to advocate for the priorities of the African continent within the G20 agenda, particularly given South Africa’s presidency of the group and the AU’s recent attainment of full membership status, the communiqué concluded.
