Ahmed Attaf, the Algerian Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, welcomed Mohamed Yeslem Beïssat, Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, on Thursday at the ministry’s headquarters, according to a statement from the ministry.
The meeting served as an opportunity to discuss the latest developments concerning the Western Sahara issue, particularly in light of United Nations efforts to enable the Sahrawi people to exercise their inalienable and longstanding right to self-determination, in accordance with relevant international legal resolutions issued by the General Assembly and the Security Council of the United Nations, the statement added.
The two ministers also exchanged views on key issues raised within the African Union (AU), the document noted.
