
The Secretary of State to the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, is paying a working visit to the Kingdom of Spain on Wednesday, according to a statement from the ministry.
At the start of his visit, Chaib went to the headquarters of the Consulate General of Algeria in Barcelona, where he inquired about the operation of the various consular services and the facilities offered to members of the national community within this consular district, the same source stated.
This trip is part of a series of scheduled visits to meeting and exchange with members of the Algerian community abroad. Accompanied by Algeria’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain and the Consul General in Barcelona, Chaib inspected the various consular departments and inquired about the mechanisms put in place and the resources mobilized to enhance the quality of consular services, as part of the ongoing modernization process, the source noted.
Furthermore, “the Secretary of State met with several members of the national community who use the various services of the Consulate General, with whom he discussed the quality of the services provided as well as the efforts made by consular staff to address their concerns, in accordance with the special attention given by the country’s highest authorities to the diaspora,” the ministry’s statement concluded.
