Algeria, Slovenia Seek to Strengthen Health Sector Cooperation at WHO Assembly

ALGIERS — Algerian Health Minister Abdelhak Saihi met on Tuesday in Geneva, Switzerland, with Slovenia’s Health Minister Valentina Prevolnik Rupel, on the sidelines of his participation in the 78th World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization (WHO), according to a ministry statement.

During this meeting, the two parties discussed “the state of health cooperation between Algeria and the Republic of Slovenia, exploring possible partnership opportunities and ways to enhance them in the future,” the statement said.

On this occasion, Saihi reaffirmed “Algeria’s readiness to develop the partnership with Slovenia across various health sectors, particularly in the development of specialized medical activities.”

For her part, the Slovenian Minister of Health expressed “her country’s willingness to strengthen bilateral cooperation and partnership relations, serving the best interests of both countries.”

The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to “boost the Algerian-Slovenian partnership and to strengthen the exchange of expertise in healthcare, serving the interests of both peoples.”
