Algeria–Germany: Several Investment Projects, Memorandums Signed in Algiers

Several Algerian-German investment projects, as well as memorandums of understanding between Algerian institutions and German companies, were concluded on Wednesday in Algiers. These agreements cover a range of sectors, including industry, digital technology and university training.

The agreements were announced on the sidelines of the first edition of the German-Algerian Investment Summit (GAIS), organized by the Algerian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK) on the occasion of the chamber’s 20th anniversary.

The first investment project presented in Algeria comes from the German company KSB, specialized in the manufacturing of pumps and valves. The company has decided to invest in local production of certain equipment, according to Kais Hadj Amar, director general of the Algerian subsidiary. The products will supply the needs of the hydraulic, energy, industrial, petrochemical and construction sectors. Until now, KSB had only marketed its products in Algeria for about fifteen years.

A second project was presented by Reichhart Logistic, which is preparing to launch operations in Algeria as a subcontractor to serve the automotive construction sector, particularly in the production of exhaust systems. The goal, according to company representative Mohamed Mounir Harrir, is “to promote local integration across all activity sectors in Algeria through its logistical and industrial services.”

The third project announced concerns a joint investment between the German company Weiss Chemie + Technik and the Algerian company ECBF Industrie, for the production of industrial, construction, automotive and shipbuilding adhesives. According to ECBF representative Sarah Sadi, this partnership “rests on a shared vision to accelerate industrial innovation in Algeria, strengthen local integration in key sectors, and position Algeria as a competitive actor at regional and international levels.”

Furthermore, Siemens and the Algerian company Intelligent Network (iNET) signed a memorandum of understanding focused on cooperation in developing data centers, with the aim of contributing to the country’s digital infrastructure. Siemens Algeria’s director general, Mehdi Benzerga, said the agreement will “provide high-value digital solutions for industry and data-center-related services, while supporting Algerian talent through technology and know-how transfer.”

A second memorandum was signed between Bayer and the universities of Blida and Algiers to support training for students in agriculture and pharmacy through scientific and technical assistance.
