Algeria, Ethiopia Discuss Judicial and Legal Cooperation

Bilateral cooperation and future prospects between the Algerian and Ethiopian ministries of Justice in the judicial and legal fields, as well as ways to expand it, particularly through the exchange of expertise and the strengthening of institutional collaboration, were the main focus of the talks held on Tuesday, in Algiers, between the Algerian Minister of Justice, Lotfi Boudjemaa, and the Ethiopian State Minister of Justice Belayhun Yirga.
The meeting took place “during the Ethiopian delegation’s visit to Algeria from 14 to 18 December 2025, for the third round of the Algerian-Ethiopian negotiations to review draft agreements on judicial cooperation in civil, commercial, and criminal matters,” said the source.
The draft agreements to be discussed also include “extradition and a memorandum of understanding on institutional cooperation between the two ministries, which have been finalized and are ready for signing by both countries’ justice ministers in the near future,” added the source.
