Algeria and Oman move to strengthen Sonatrach–Suhail Bahwan Group partnership

Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, met on Tuesday with a delegation from Suhail Bahwan Group Holding, led by the Chairman of the Board, Sheikh Saad Suhail Bahwan, where they discussed reinforcing the existing partnership between the Sonatrach Group and Suhail Bahwan Group Holding.

During the meeting, both parties reviewed the current state of cooperation and partnership relations between the Sonatrach Group and Suhail Bahwan Holding Group, as well as ways to strengthen and expand them, particularly in the hydrocarbons and petrochemicals sectors, with a focus on fertilizer production projects such as ammonia and urea. They also discussed prospects for expanding the group’s investments in Algeria, especially in the fertilizer industry, the Algerian Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines said in a statement.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to explore the investment opportunities available in Algeria, particularly in sectors related to hydrocarbons and mining. Moreover, discussions addressed the reforms and facilitation measures, as well as the new legal and regulatory frameworks adopted by Algeria, aimed at improving the business climate, encouraging foreign investment, and strengthening mutually beneficial strategic partnerships, the statement said.

According to the ministry, both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening economic cooperation between Algeria and the Sultanate of Oman, particularly by reinforcing the existing partnership between the Sonatrach Group and Suhail Bahwan Group Holding, in a manner that contributes to supporting sustainable development and consolidating economic relations between the two countries.
