BEIRUT – Algerian Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, made a statement on Sunday, following his meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, reaffirming Algeria’s unwavering support for Lebanon in both good and bad times.

Attaf explained that he had been entrusted by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune with a mission as a special envoy to deliver a written message to President Aoun.

He also extended, on behalf of President Tebboune, heartfelt congratulations to Joseph Aoun on his election as President of the Lebanese Republic and the completion of the government formation process, wishing Lebanon success and prosperity.

“Lebanon is going through a critical phase in its history—one that involves strengthening institutions, revitalizing the economy, and restoring security.” He said, adding that “throughout these stages, Algeria will remain steadfastly by Lebanon’s side.”

During the meeting, Attaf and President Aoun discussed bilateral relations, agreeing on the need to give them fresh momentum and broader scope.
