Algeria Advances Trans-Saharan Highway Project with Technical Mission in Chad

The Algerian technical delegation currently visiting Chad ahead of the launch of the project to construct two sections of the Trans-Saharan highway visited both sites on Tuesday, the Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure said in a press release.
This field visit, which aims to finalize the evaluation of the project, allowed the technical delegation to take stock of the state of the sites and the nature of the planned works, while identifying potential technical and logistical challenges.
The visit also focused on the geographical and topographical characteristics of the two sites and their conformity with the studies already carried out.
In this respect, the members of the delegation exchanged views with representatives of the concerned companies on ways to improve performance and ensure respect for deadlines.
The Algerian delegation brings together representatives from the Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructures, the Algerian International Cooperation Agency for Solidarity and Development, the company Cosider Travaux Publics, the National Public Works Company (SNTP) and the National Body for Technical Control of Public Works (CTTP).
This visit to Chad is part of the implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who ordered, during the last Council of Ministers, the undertaking, by Algerian companies, of the construction of two sections of the Trans-Saharan road on the Chadian territory.
