67 Terrorists Eliminated and 369 Supporters Arrested in 2025, Algerian Army Reports

Sixty-seven (67) terrorists were neutralized and 369 individuals supporting terrorist groups were arrested during 2025 by units of the People’s National Army (PNA), which also recovered significant quantities of weapons and ammunition, according to an operational report released Monday by the PNA.

“In line with efforts by PNA units and detachments to preserve national security, unity, and stability, 2025 saw significant operational achievements in counter-terrorism and the fight against organized crime. These results confirm the effectiveness of the High Command’s approach and reflect the high level of readiness and professionalism of our Armed Forces,” the report stated.

In counter-terrorism operations, the PNA neutralized 67 terrorists, arrested 369 supporters, uncovered and destroyed 12 terrorist hideouts, and recovered 104 firearms, 13 improvised mines, and various calibers of ammunition.

In combating organized crime, the PNA intensified efforts against drug trafficking, arresting 2,354 traffickers and intercepting 35 tons of processed kif from the Moroccan border, alongside seizing 934 kilograms of cocaine and 40 million psychotropic tablets. The operations also led to the arrest of 18,744 individuals, confiscation of 498 firearms and 1,747 vehicles, as well as 7,633 jackhammers, 12,574 generators, 280 metal detectors, 2,638,000 liters of fuel, 1,850 quintals of tobacco, and 1,298 tons of foodstuffs destined for smuggling or speculation in separate operations nationwide.

Additionally, combined detachments of the PNA apprehended 24,071 illegal immigrants of various nationalities across the country, the Ministry of National Defense statement concluded.
