US Navy Loses Second Super Hornet in a Week After Red Sea Crash

A US Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet crashed into the Red Sea after failing to land on the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, NBC News reported Tuesday, citing two American officials.

The incident occurred Tuesday night when the aircraft missed the arresting wire during landing and plunged into the sea. Both aviators ejected safely and sustained only minor injuries, according to the report.

This marks the second Super Hornet lost from the same carrier in just over a week. On April 28, another jet was accidentally pulled off the deck during towing operations. The US Navy has launched investigations into both incidents.
