MBS Announces Plan to Boost Saudi Investments in the US to Nearly $1 Trillion

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced Tuesday that Saudi Arabia intends to increase its investments in the United States from $600 billion to nearly $1 trillion. Speaking alongside US President Donald Trump at the White House, the crown prince emphasized that the upcoming agreements between the two nations would pave the way for substantial new investments.
“I believe, Mr. President, today and tomorrow we can announce that we are going to increase that $600 billion to almost $1 trillion for real investment,” Bin Salman said, highlighting expected deals in technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and magnets, which he said will create major opportunities for both countries.
Trump, interjecting during the exchange, sought clarification: “Now, you’re saying to me now that the $600 billion will be $1 trillion?”
“Definitely, because what we are signing will facilitate that,” MBS responded.
The US president quickly welcomed the announcement, thanking the crown prince for what he described as a major boost to the American economy. “We can count on $600 billion, but that number could go up a little bit higher,” Trump added, eager to showcase the economic benefits of his personal diplomatic ties.
