International Condemnations of the Zionist Aggression Against Syria

The recent aggressive actions by the Zionist entity against Syria, which included strikes on the Syrian army’s headquarters in Damascus and in the city of Sweida, have resulted in numerous casualties and prompted widespread condemnation from the international community. This situation has also triggered an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.
According to updated reports from the Syrian Ministry of Health, the assault on the Syrian army’s headquarters in Damascus claimed three lives and left 34 others injured on Wednesday. Concurrently, since Tuesday, the Zionist forces has been conducting strikes on the city of Sweida in southern Syria, resulting in additional casualties among both the deceased and the injured.
Algeria has “strongly” condemned this deplorable aggression against Syria, characterizing it as “a blatant violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.” Algeria reiterated its urgent call for the UN Security Council to “fulfill its responsibilities to put an end to these repeated aggressions that have plunged the entire region into a cycle of insecurity and instability, with no clear prospect for calming the situation or upholding the rule of international law.”
The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the “flagrant attack,” asserting that it is part of a systematic policy implemented by the Zionist entity aimed at escalating tensions, fostering chaos, and undermining security and safety in Syria, in clear violation of the UN Charter and international humanitarian law.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also denounced the assaults by the Zionist forces on Sweida, Deraa, and central Damascus, as well as the reported redeployment of ionist troops in the occupied Golan Heights, according to his spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric in a brief statement.
Meanwhile, the Arab League’s Secretariat stated that the Zionist aggressions against Syria “constitute a blatant infringement on the sovereignty of an Arab state that is a member of both the League and the United Nations, representing a breach of international law.”
The Arab Parliament expressed concern that the continuation of these “unacceptable” attacks will exacerbate “tensions and instability in the region” and is part of a systematic strategy aimed at imposing facts on the ground through military force, completely disregarding international legitimacy and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Emergency Meeting of the Security Council
Echoing similar sentiments, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi lamented that the “enraged” Zionist entity knows “no bounds,” calling for unity among nations to put an end to its “unchecked aggression.”
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun urged the international community to assume its responsibilities and exert pressure by all means necessary to halt the Zionist attacks.
In Moscow, Russian officials indicated that the Zionist bombings in Syria “constitute a blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty and international law and deserve firm condemnation,” while the Turkish Foreign Ministry described them as a “sabotage act” against Syria’s peace and stability efforts.
China, through Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian, asserted that “no actions leading to an escalation of the situation should be undertaken, especially given the ongoing unrest in the Middle East.”
In Brussels, the European Union urged the Zionist entity to “immediately cease its strikes” in Syria, emphasizing the need to respect the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. In light of this aggression, the UN Security Council is scheduled to hold an emergency meeting this Thursday.
