The Spanish newspaper “AS” reported today, Tuesday, that German international midfielder İlkay Gündoğan has decided to return to Manchester City following a conversation with coach Pep Guardiola.
The publication stated, ” Gündoğan spoke directly with Guardiola and expressed his desire to return to City; since then, everything has changed.”
Furthermore, it noted that the player has informed Manchester City that he believes Barcelona will permit him to leave on a free transfer.
On Monday, Gündoğan announced his retirement from international football with the German national team.
