Grand Mufti of Al-Quds Banned from Al-Aqsa for Six Months

The Zionist occupation authorities have imposed a six-month ban on Sheikh Mohammad Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Al-Quds and the Palestinian territories, preventing him from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque, as reported by the Wafa news agency.

“The occupation authorities have decided to extend Sheikh Hussein’s prohibition from accessing Al-Aqsa Mosque for six months, following an initial eight-day ban. This decision was made after his Friday sermon, in which he condemned the starvation policies enacted by the occupation against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip,” stated the Al-Quds governorate in a communiqué relayed by Wafa.

On July 27, the occupation authorities summoned Sheikh Mohammad Hussein and issued a one-week ban that could be renewed.

Since the beginning of its aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the Zionist entity has intensified its control over places of worship in occupied Palestine and has increased repression against Muslim worshippers.

Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam, is subjected to daily acts of desecration by settlers and armed Zionist forces. These actions aim, among other objectives, to Judaize the city of Al-Quds, impose a new reality, and alter the cultural identity of this holy city.
