Gastech 2024: Sonatrach Engages in Key Meetings with Major Energy Firms

Rachid Hachichi, CEO of Sonatrach, along with his accompanying delegation, continues to hold significant working meetings on the second day of their participation in the “Gastech” global energy conference in Houston, Texas, as reported by the public group on Friday.

Among the discussions that took place on Thursday, Hachichi met with Masayuki Sato, president of the Japanese company “JGC,” which specializes in executing large-scale energy projects under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) model. JGC has successfully completed several key projects for Sonatrach, including Phase 1 of the “Boosting III” Project at Hassi R’mel.

During this meeting, Sonatrach’s delegation encouraged JGC to submit proposals for the company’s medium-term projects, according to the statement.

Following this discussion, the CEO of Sonatrach conducted a working meeting with a delegation from the American firm “Baker Hughes,” led by its CEO Lorenzo Simonelli. The two leaders discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation through their subsidiaries, ALGESCO and APAC.

In this context, both parties agreed to reorganize the repair workshop for machines and turbines at ALGESCO’s facility in Boufarik, located in Blida province, as clarified in the statement.

The report also highlighted advancements in the manufacturing of turbine compressors intended for the construction of the Boosting III Station, Phase 2 at Hassi R’mel, noting that progress is proceeding according to the established timeline.
