DR Congo Receives 100,000 Monkeypox Vaccine Doses from Germany

The Democratic Republic of Congo has received 100,000 doses of monkeypox vaccines donated by Germany, according to media reports on Friday.
Dr. Amédée Prosper Djiguimdé, Head of UNICEF’s Health Division, expressed gratitude to donors supporting vaccination efforts against monkeypox in Africa, particularly in the DRC.
A recent WHO report stated that over 46,000 confirmed and suspected monkeypox cases have been reported in Africa as of November 3, with 1,081 fatalities. WHO plans to hold an emergency meeting next week to assess whether the disease remains a global health emergency.
