China, Central Asian Countries Commit to Strengthening Multilateral Trade System

On Tuesday, China and the Central Asian countries affirmed their commitment to reinforcing the multilateral trade system based on the principles of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
The six nations—China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan—highlighted this commitment in the Astana Declaration issued during the China-Central Asia Summit.
They pledged to support the evolution of international trade rules while promoting the liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment.
Furthermore, they emphasized the importance of maintaining global supply chains that are open, inclusive, sustainable, stable, diversified, and reliable.
Additionally, these countries expressed their intention to prioritize cooperation in six key areas: unobstructed trade, industrial investment, connectivity, green minerals, agricultural modernization, and the facilitation of personnel exchanges.
