Paris – Paris St Germain have signed highly rated 19-year-old Portuguese defensive midfielder Joao Neves from Primeira Liga side Benfica on a contract until 2029.
Neither PSG nor Benfica disclosed the financial details of the deal that includes as well the transfer of PSG Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches to Benfica on loan with a buy option.
“I’m very proud to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a very ambitious club. I’m going to give my all to help my team-mates, to grow at this fantastic club and to win numerous titles”, said Neves to the PSG media team.
Midfielder Neves is the second player signed by the Parisian club this summer after Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.
