Algerian President : IATF success, fruit of collective mobilization of all sectors, foreign partners

Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed Thursday, in Algiers, that the success of the fourth Intra-African Trade Fair, hosted by Algeria last September, is the fruit of collective mobilization of all sectors and foreign partners.

Speaking at the opening of a meeting with economic operators, at Abdellatif Rahal International Conference Center, aimed at building on the fair’s success, the President said that “the deals secured are the fruit of collective mobilization that brought economic stakeholders and African and international partners to Algeria.” He noted that the fair, which provided a genuine opportunity for business operators from Africa and beyond to explore Algeria’s potential, achieved “unprecedented” numbers in the event’s history, demonstrating that Algeria’s edition surpassed all expectations.

He underlined that the substantial number of agreements signed in this edition demonstrates that “partners discovered a favorable investment climate in our country, thanks to our industrialists and young entrepreneurs with projects.” To this is added, the high quality of Algerian products, added the President of the Republic, noting that “the Fair was a real catalyst allowing to envisage the promotion of broader domains in the sectors of agriculture, industry and tourism, and to concretize more investment initiatives.” The President of the Republic affirmed that Algeria remains committed to building “a diversified and competitive economy free from any bureaucratic complications,” highlighting the significant progress made in establishing micro, small, medium, and startup enterprises.

This momentum, added President Tebboune, drives efforts to expand non-hydrocarbon exports.

He noted that the meeting provides an opportunity to assess Algerian business operators’ performance following the fair’s remarkable success, particularly in terms of the volume of deals.

President of the Republic emphasized the importance of “honoring commitments made during the fourth edition, improving efficiency, and capitalizing on all available economic opportunities across Africa.”
