Algeria, Mozambique Explore Ways to Boost Economic Cooperation

The president of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), Kamel Moula, discussed with his Mozambican counterpart ways to strengthen bilateral economic exchanges, the council said Thursday in a statement.
The meeting, held Wednesday in Mozambique and attended by Sonatrach CEO Rachid Hachichi, aimed to “explore avenues of cooperation and partnership to identify new opportunities for economic exchange between the two countries,” according to the statement.
Talks focused on identifying “priority sectors where the two nations can establish concrete and lasting cooperation.”
The Mozambican side expressed strong interest in benefiting from Algeria’s industrial expertise, particularly in energy, agri-industries, infrastructure, and vocational training, the statement added.
The two sides also agreed to organize a major economic fair in Mozambique’s capital, Maputo, bringing together key business actors from both countries.
The event will serve as a platform for exchange and partnership, designed to strengthen bilateral cooperation and open new investment prospects between Algeria and Mozambique, according to the same source.
CREA reaffirmed its “full commitment to the open African dynamic” and its mission to promote Algerian know-how and showcase national companies’ potential across the continent.
