14 Algerian Students to Compete in Huawei ICT Competition Finals
Fourteen Algerian students will represent Algeria at the global finals of Huawei’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) competition, set to take place in May in China, as announced in a statement released by the company on Thursday.
Their qualification is attributed to their “remarkable performances” during the regional competitions, the statement noted. These students are organized into four teams and come from various universities across the country. They excelled in the categories of “Networks,” “Computer Science,” “Cloud,” and “Innovation” due to their “exceptional performances” in the regional qualifiers, according to the same source.
The Huawei ICT competition serves as “a true platform for discovering and nurturing talent in Algeria,” the statement added, emphasizing that “over 2,500 Algerian students participated in this year’s national competition, reflecting the growing interest among young people in the fields of information and communication technology.”
It is noteworthy that in the previous edition of the competition held in China, Algerian teams achieved recognition by winning global awards in the “Cloud” and “Networks” categories, underscoring the significant advancements made by young Algerians in this sector.
“Huawei Algeria is committed to supporting young talents by providing them with academic training opportunities in the field of information and communication technology through programs such as the Huawei ICT Academy, which has already benefited thousands of students across various Algerian universities,” the company stated.
Additionally, Huawei emphasized that through this initiative, it is “contributing to strengthening cooperation with Algerian universities and offering advanced educational programs in the fields of technology and digitization,” the statement concluded.
