Mauritania Expresses Readiness to Boost Maritime Fishing, Port Cooperation with Algeria

TLEMCEN – The Mauritanian Minister of Fisheries, Maritime and Port Infrastructure, Ould Sidati Ahmed Loulii, expressed on Tuesday, in Tlemcen, his country’s willingness to enhance cooperation in the field of maritime fishing and its infrastructure.
In a statement to the press on the sidelines of his visit to the port of “Sidi Youchaâ” in the municipality of “Dar Yaghmouracene,” Ould Sidati stated that “Mauritania is ready to strengthen its cooperation with Algeria in the field of fishing, as well as maritime and port infrastructure, in line with the directives of the two heads of state.”
“We are actively working on this, and we will soon implement it through projects that benefit both countries and our peoples,” he stated.
The minister added that this visit to the province of Tlemcen “provides an opportunity to observe the development of port infrastructure in Algeria,” highlighting that he was able to closely witness the significant achievements Algeria has made in this field.
After listening to a detailed presentation on the fishing and aquaculture sector in Tlemcen, Ould Sidati declared: “It is a very clear vision that mirrors the progress made by Algeria in exploiting its fishery resources.”
