USA: Trump picks Karoline Leavitt for White House press secretary

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida – President-elect Donald Trump chose his transition spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, to serve as his White House press secretary.
“I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American People as we, Make America Great Again,” Trump said in a statement.
The White House press secretary’s role is primarily to keep the American public informed about presidential activities, all while safeguarding the president’s confidential matters. Therefore, the challenge will be to provide accurate information and build credibility with reporters while maintaining unwavering loyalty to Trump.
Leavitt, 27, will be the youngest person to ever hold such a title.
In the previous Trump administration, she served as an assistant press secretary.
Trump’s last chief spokesperson at the White House was McEnany, who clashed with reporters during the 2020 pandemic and is now an on-air personality at Fox News.
