UNSC to hold meeting over Zionist attack on Iranian military sites

NEW YORK – The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is scheduled to hold a meeting on Monday over Zionist attacks on Iran, diplomats said on Sunday.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called on the Security Council to meet over the attack, and diplomats said the council was likely to discuss the situation on Monday.
In a letter to the 15-member council, FM Araqchi said the Zionist entity’s actions “constitute a grave threat to international peace and security and further destabilise an already fragile region.”
“The Islamic Republic of Iran, in alignment with the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and under international law, reserves its inherent right to legal and legitimate response to these criminal attacks at the appropriate time,” he wrote.
The Zionist regime launched a series of airstrikes targeting several sites in Khuzestan, Ilam, and around Tehran provinces in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Iran’s air defence system intercepted most of the missiles. However, the offensive resulted in the martyrdom of four Iranian military officers.
