UN Warns: Over 2 Million in Gaza Deprived of Survival Essentials Amid Escalating Zionist Assault

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has sounded the alarm over the deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where over two million people are being denied basic necessities for survival due to ongoing zionist aggression and hunger.

According to the UN News Centre, Deputy UN Spokesperson Farhan Haq reported that the Israeli assault on northern Gaza has intensified in recent days, resulting in a large number of casualties, including displaced and starving civilians killed while risking their lives to access food at military-run distribution points.

Haq stressed that aid distribution sites not operated by the UN are “not safe,” adding, “This is not how people should be expected to receive humanitarian assistance.”

OCHA emphasized the urgent need to protect civilians and ensure they receive humanitarian aid wherever they are, in accordance with international humanitarian law.

On the ground, the UN managed to gather some supplies, mostly flour, via the Kerem Shalom crossing. OCHA reiterated that the zionist entity, as the occupying power, is responsible for maintaining public order and safety in Gaza. This responsibility includes allowing more essential supplies into the strip through multiple crossings to meet critical humanitarian needs.

OCHA also revealed that the occupying forces recently denied 11 out of 18 UN-coordinated humanitarian movement requests, including water trucking, fuel retrieval, rescue missions in Khan Younis, and road repairs.

Meanwhile, the World Food Programme (WFP) reported that it sent 59 trucks carrying life-saving food aid to northern Gaza. A second convoy, with 21 trucks intended for the south, was delayed for more than 36 hours awaiting movement permits.

The WFP said it has over 140,000 metric tons of food — enough to feed all 2.2 million people in Gaza for two months — either inside the strip or en route. The agency noted that the aid delivered during the previous ceasefire helped halt the surge of hunger, stressing that another ceasefire is desperately needed to safely reach all people across Gaza with life-saving assistance.

In the occupied West Bank, Haq also noted recent zionist military operations in the city of Nablus, which included a curfew and house-to-house searches. The occupying forces have also announced imminent plans to demolish nearly 96 structures, most of them residential, in Jenin refugee camp.
