UN Ready to Enhance Cooperation with Algeria

ALGIERS — The UN Ambassador and Resident Coordinator in Algeria, Ammassari Savina Claudia, affirmed Tuesday that the UN stands ready to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Algeria under the 2030 Agenda framework.
Following the ceremony where she presented her credentials to the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the UN ambassador highlighted Algeria’s assets which has “an immense longstanding, geographical and cultural wealth.”
She further underscored the UN’s commitment to “strengthen bilateral cooperation with Algeria under the 2030 Agenda framework.”
The ambassador said she was delighted to be appointed in Algeria, “a country that has always championed multilateralism and supported multilateral organizations like the United Nations.”
She touched upon the cooperation plan launched in 2023 and which will run through 2027, “a plan that guides all actions that UN entities will implement.”
“We work with Algeria, notably with the government, principally for the country’s prosperity,” she said, while commending “the work accomplished and efforts to speed up the realization of sustainable development goals, in line with the 2030 Agenda that unites us all.”
