Trump : Illegal Immigration a Greater Threat Than Putin, Urges Focus on US Border Security

Washington – US President Donald Trump declared on Monday that illegal immigration poses a greater threat than Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump, who has recently engaged with Putin to negotiate an end to the Ukraine war and improve bilateral relations, urged Americans to focus on criminals entering the country rather than geopolitical concerns.

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump wrote: “We should spend less time worrying about Putin, and more time worrying about migrant rape gangs, drug lords, murderers, and people from mental institutions entering our Country.”

He warned that the US must take action “so that we don’t end up like Europe,” referencing migration-related issues that have fueled the rise of far-right parties in European politics. His administration has continued to enforce strict deportation measures and a crackdown on illegal immigration.

Trump’s remarks came as European leaders gathered for a summit in London to reaffirm their support for Ukraine. His comments also followed a tense argument at the White House with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US Vice President JD Vance. The dispute arose after Zelenskyy expressed skepticism about Trump’s approach of engaging Putin to achieve a lasting peace.
