Sahrawi Association Condemns Moroccan Occupation and Calls for International Intervention

The Sahrawi Association for Victims of Serious Human Rights Violations committed by the Moroccan occupation has expressed strong condemnation of the ongoing crimes against the unarmed Sahrawi people in the occupied cities. In a statement obtained by “WAAS,” the association denounced the continued repression and violation of the rights and freedoms of Sahrawis by Moroccan authorities.

The association reaffirmed its full and unconditional solidarity with all victims and their families, and by extension, with all Sahrawi victims. The statement renewed its condemnation of the targeting and crimes perpetrated by the Moroccan occupation and its repressive apparatus. It called for the expansion of the MINURSO mission’s mandate to include monitoring and reporting on human rights violations.

The association also urged the International Red Cross to intervene for the immediate release of all Sahrawi civilian prisoners held in Moroccan jails. It further called on the United Nations and the Security Council to hold the Moroccan occupying power accountable, ensuring respect for international law and the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to freedom and independence. The statement emphasized the need for international pressure on Morocco to fulfill its obligations, particularly regarding human rights issues.
