The Russian Foreign Ministry has strongly criticized an attack by Ukrainian forces on a vehicle carrying International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts. Labeling the incident a blatant provocation, the ministry accused Ukraine of disregarding humanitarian law and attempting to manipulate international opinion ahead of an IAEA Board of Governors session on December 12, convened at Ukraine’s request.
Moscow condemned the attack, urging the United States, the UK, and allied nations to stop supporting the Zelensky administration. Vladimir Rogov, a senior Russian official, claimed the attack aimed to refocus global attention on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, where safety concerns remain a contentious issue amid the ongoing conflict.
The incident underscores the tensions surrounding the Zaporozhye plant, one of the largest in Europe, and reflects broader geopolitical struggles between Moscow and Kiev, with nuclear safety and international involvement increasingly in the spotlight.
