Russia to Form Special Negotiation Team for Talks with U.S. on Ukraine

Russia will establish a special negotiation team to discuss the Ukraine conflict with the United States, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov announced. He emphasized that President Vladimir Putin will decide whether to accept the proposed 30-day ceasefire.
“We will appoint direct negotiators to discuss the Ukrainian issue with the Americans… at least, that is the current agreement,” Ushakov told reporters.
He added that Russia would continue engaging with U.S. representatives through existing communication channels while maintaining regular contact with U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
Recent meetings in Saudi Arabia between U.S. and Ukrainian officials resulted in Kyiv expressing willingness to implement a 30-day ceasefire and sign a natural resources agreement with Washington in exchange for the resumption of U.S. military aid and intelligence sharing.
U.S. officials are reportedly working to convince Russia to accept the ceasefire and enter negotiations, assuring that Kyiv will comply with any agreement reached.
