Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham Out for a Month with Calf Injury

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham is expected to be out for about a month after sustaining a calf injury during training on Friday, as reported by Spanish media.
“Following tests carried out today on Jude Bellingham by Real Madrid’s medical team, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the plantaris muscle in his right leg,” stated Real Madrid, without specifying the duration of his absence.
Bellingham will likely miss several La Liga fixtures, including matches against Real Valladolid, Las Palmas, and Real Betis. He will also miss England’s Nations League games against the Republic of Ireland and Finland in September.
“(Bellingham) took a knock, we’re evaluating it,” Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti mentioned during a press conference earlier on Friday.
Bellingham played a crucial role for Madrid last season, helping them secure a Champions League and La Liga double. In this season’s first two matches, he played in central midfield to make room for striker Kylian Mbappe, having played in a more advanced position last season.
The 21-year-old midfielder aims to return for Madrid’s first Champions League match this season, scheduled between September 17-19.
