Paris 2024 : Algeria Among 39 African Nations Set to Compete in the Paralympic Games

The African continent will be well-represented at the 17th Paralympic Games in Paris, set to take place from August 28 to September 8, with a total of 39 African countries, including Algeria, participating in eleven different sports.
With 26 athletes, 18 men and 8 women, Algeria ranks among the top five African countries in terms of representation at the Paris games. Egypt leads with 54 athletes, followed by South Africa with 32 and Tunisia with 30.
A total of 305 African athletes are set to take part in the Paris event, which kicks off with the opening ceremony this evenening. The eleven disciplines are : (para-athletics, para-powerlifting, para-judo, para-canoe, para-taekwondo, table tennis, swimming, sitting volleyball, goalball, para-triathlon and rowing).
