Palestinian Foreign Ministry Welcomes UN Report on Genocidal Acts in Gaza

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has welcomed the report by the United Nations Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, which states that the Zionist occupier’s “systematic” attacks on reproductive health in Gaza constitute “acts of genocide.”
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the ministry praised the report’s findings on “the reality of genocide” perpetrated by the Zionist entity and other crimes committed against the Palestinian people since the Nakba. The ministry emphasized that “the suffering endured by our people—men, women, and children—is unacceptable and must not be ignored,” calling for accountability for those responsible.
The statement also commended “the tireless efforts of the international commission to achieve justice and reveal the truth,” stressing the need to ensure its work continues without external pressure or attempts to undermine its credibility.
“Instead of attacking the commission and challenging its mandate, the international community must support it and respect its findings, which are based on strong international legal foundations,” the ministry added.
In its report released on Thursday, the UN commission found that the occupying authorities had “partially destroyed the ability of Palestinians in Gaza— as a group— to bear children, through the systematic destruction of sexual and reproductive healthcare services.”
The UN defines genocide as a crime committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. The commission identified two specific genocidal acts concerning Gaza: “measures intended to prevent births” and the “deliberate imposition of living conditions designed to bring about physical destruction.”
Additionally, the report highlighted the consequences of the Zionist entity’s blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza amid the aggression that devastated the enclave since October 2023, before a ceasefire took effect on January 19, 2025.
The commission concluded that Zionist forces “deliberately imposed living conditions intended to bring about the physical destruction of Palestinians in Gaza,” categorizing these actions as “genocidal acts.”
