Palestinian Doctor Husam Abu Safiya Denies Charges Against Him

Dr. Husam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, has spoken publicly for the first time since his arrest by Zionist forces in December. In an interview with Zionist Channel 13, Abu Safiya stated that he does not know the charges against him or why he was detained. Appearing pale and shackled in Ofer Prison, he denied any involvement in treating Zionist prisoners or Palestinian militants, emphasizing his role as a humanitarian doctor caring for civilians.
Abu Safiya, who gained recognition for his work during the Zionist assault on Gaza, was forcibly taken by Zionist forces after they raided and destroyed Kamal Adwan Hospital. He had continued to treat patients despite suffering injuries in a Zionist airstrike. His family condemned the broadcast of his prison footage as psychological terrorism, accusing Zionist media of distorting his statements. They called for urgent action to secure his release.
Reports suggest that Abu Safiya is among Palestinian detainees expected to be freed as part of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement. His case has drawn international attention, with growing calls for his release amid concerns over Zionist treatment of detained Palestinian medical professionals.
